Phew! It's complete! I've been working on this for the last two weeks.

It's Laaaauuurriii! Hubba hubba. If only I really knew what he looked like without a shirt... (Yes, I did search for reference pictures... to no avail.)

This was drawn on a monstrous 30 x 40 illustration board--if there are any minor problems with perspective and dimension (and there are), please blame it the sheer size of this thing. Or my lack of knowledge of human anatomy. That works, too. But you've gotta admit that he does have some pretty nice abs.


And now, here is a list of random fun-ness that I had while working on this:

I often times took the picture off the table and gave it a good shake to rid the drawing of any stray charcoal dust. Wubbawubbawubbawubba = most entertaining sound ever.

I found that, just a few days before the finished product, I had rubbed one of my fingerprints off. Imagine charcoal as incredibly fine-grained sand, and now imagine yourself rubbing your finger against said fine-grained sand for two hours daily, fourteen days in a row... It really happened. Mmyup. I'm going to go rob a bank now.

That strange habit that artists have of talking to their drawings... Yeah, I do that now. Usually the one-sided conversation would consist of, "LauriLauriLauriLauri."
