Why, Yes, I Am Magnificent

Yup, that's little me, right there, flauntin' it in my homemade Prince Poppycock costume!

I wore this outfit to school on Friday, and received a lot of positive attention. And I mean a lot. I had people yelling at me from across the lunchroom, "You're Prince Poppycock!" and random people staring, dumbfounded, as I walked down the hallway to my classes and whatnot. I overheard plenty of statements like "Whoa, she went all out!" and "Wow, I hope that person wins an award!" I was getting compliments from people I've never even seen before! TALK ABOUT A CONFIDENCE BOOST, RIGHT THERE.

So, naturally, I won the Most Creative Costume award for the whole whopping high school. You should have heard the applause! I couldn't help myself but to imitate the prince's magnificent bow just before a great big bag of cheap candy was dumped into my arms.

Anyhow, this outfit was designed by me, and sewn by my mom and I. The frilly shirt, vest, shoes, and wig were bought, obviously, but we put together the tailcoat and the hat. Well, I put together the tailcoat, she put together the hat.



Not bad for my first real sewing project, eh? Well, second, if you count my sexy man-pillow.



...This was totally worth all the cramps and blisters from those high heels, I might add. Let me share with you a sliver of wisdom, though: Do NOT go from never having worn high heels in your life to suddenly strutting around in three-inch heels for six hours straight. And people think papercuts are painful...
